Heistmaster
You can move and shoot, the basic recipe for a shooter game, but what if using one took you out of control of the other?
With exploding robot guards and 6 levels, I give you Heistmaster, made in 48 hours for the GMTK 2020 game jam!
Controls:
WASD / Arrow keys to move
Hold left click and mouse to aim and shoot in Shoot mode (you cannot aim in Move mode)
Space to toggle between modes
R to reset
To select level click on the small arrows until you're at the level you want, then click heist!
How to play
Main mechanic:
You can both move and shoot, but using one will take you out of control of the other.
In "Shoot" mode you can freely aim and shoot but slide and bounce based on the last direction you were moving in Move mode moving
In "Move" mode you can freely move but will keep shooting in the last direction you aimed in Shoot mode. Need a hint which angle to bounce? Try using the marks on the floor.
Side mechanics:
Bullets collide in midair and destroy each other. You can use them as a very thin shield
There are (robot) guards that shoot you. You are a one shot kill and so are they
To win the level and unlock the next you must get to the large gold pile. For an extra challenge you can also try picking up all the gold pieces along the way. But careful not to shoot a civilian!
Betcha cant get all the gold pieces in all the levels lmao, post proof in comments if you do
